Privacy Policy
How Kriya Source looks after your personal information. Last updated 8 November 2026.
Who we are
Kriya Source is the website of Heidi Wyder, author of Kriya Yoga: Four Spiritual Masters and a Beginner, based in Melbourne, Australia. In this policy “we” means Heidi Wyder and Kriya Source.
We follow the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988. Readers in the European Union, the United Kingdom and Switzerland also have the rights set out in their own data protection laws, such as the GDPR.
What we collect and why
- Messages you send us. If you use the Send a message form, we receive your name, email address and message. They are emailed to Heidi and kept on this website so your message isn’t lost. We use them only to read and reply to you.
- Our newsletter. If you sign up, we receive your first name, last name (optional) and email address. They are used only to send you our emails about Guruji’s wisdom, Kriya Yoga and Heidi’s publications. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
- Website statistics. We use Google Analytics (through Google Tag Manager) to see which pages are read, roughly where readers are, and which devices they use. It uses cookies and does not tell us who you are. It loads only after you scroll, tap or type, or after a few seconds.
- Server records. Like every website, our web host keeps short-term technical records (such as IP address, browser and pages requested) to keep the site running and secure.
We don’t ask for more than we need, we don’t sell your information, and we don’t use it for advertising.
Services we use
- Kit (kit.com, formerly ConvertKit) sends our newsletter and stores our subscriber list. Some earlier newsletters were sent with Mailchimp.
- Google Analytics provides the website statistics.
Links to other sites, such as Amazon, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Guruji’s Kashi Kriya websites and our Kit blog archive, take you to sites with their own privacy policies.
Information stored overseas
Kit, Mailchimp and Google are based in the United States, so information held by them may be stored outside Australia. We use them because they protect personal information with recognised safeguards.
Cookies
Google Analytics sets cookies (named _ga) to count visits. WordPress sets cookies only for people who log in to manage the site. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on; the website works the same without them.
How long we keep it
- Messages: as long as needed to reply and keep a record of our conversation. You can ask us to delete them at any time.
- Newsletter details: until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove them.
- Website statistics: for the period set in our Google Analytics account, after which Google deletes them.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us at any time to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it. You can unsubscribe from our emails with the link at the bottom of any email. To ask, use the Send a message form. We’ll reply within 30 days.
If you’re not happy with how we’ve handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner or, in Europe, your local data protection authority.
Keeping it safe
This website uses a secure (https) connection, is kept up to date, and only Heidi and the people who help her run the site can see messages and subscriber details.
Children
This website is written for adults. We don’t knowingly collect information from children under 16.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
